Coat Clipping for Ringworm
We hope you don’t have this ringworm problem with your pet anymore; however, if you do, we wanted to be able to offer some help if people in your house hold have a suppressed immune system. The last thing they need is to be infected with the ringworm fungus.
Clipping of the pet’s entire coat may be necessary. This removes the infected hairs and minimizes continued shedding of hair fragments and spores into the environment. It makes topical medication administration easier and allows for more thorough penetration of the topical anti-fungal agent. Pets that live with immune-compromised people should be clipped so the infection can be eradicated as soon as possible.
