Pet Ear Mites

Once you get rid of your pet ear mites, you can prevent your pet from ever getting them back.  Did you know that?

Most cured pet ear mites infections never return. Some dogs do seem to be prone to infections. These dogs will be helped by using a preventative solution a few times a week. A very important preventative procedure is to make sure the ear canals are dried thoroughly with a drying solution after you bathe your pet or after your pet swims. A pet with allergies (one of the prime causes of ear infections) should be treated for allergy as soon as he starts itching.

We know it is not easy or fun spending all the time and money to treat your pet ear mites infection. However, remember the infection is not your pet’s fault or your fault. Your pet will love you all the more for your time and concern.

Pet Ear mites infection can be treated topically after removal of waste from the ear. Various anti-parasitic medicines are available for use in the ears. Homes with multiple infected pets can be dealt with with oral or injectable ivermectin. There is also a product labeled for treatment of ear mites in pussies known as selamectin that is used on the skin and lasts for one month ; there’s also a non poisonous product called Mitactin that is proven to work great.

Pet Ear Mites spread rapidly from animal to animal

Pet Ear mites spread rapidly, and can be transmitted from even transient physical contact with other animals. Pet ear mites most typically affect cats, guinea pigs, ferrets, and to a lesser extent dogs. Very rarely, humans may also be affected. Infected animals have a giant amount of crumbly dark brown material in their ears. On close inspection, little white mites can be seen in the waste. Pet Ear mites do not burrow as some mites do, but live within the ear canal.

Pet Ear Mites through direct contact

The pet ear mite is the most typical reason for ear contagions in cats, quickly spreading from one cat to another through direct contact. Pet Ear mites cause inflammatory symptoms, similar to bacterial and yeast infections. Indications include itching and redness of the ears. Other, more serious problems can come from untreated pet ear mites infections, eg skin illness in areas aside from the ear.

PetsBestRx™ has the medicinal products to clean the ears, eliminate the secondary infection and combat the mites the non toxic way.
