Q:my 7 year old beagle mixed female dog scratches her skin all the time she is loing her hair and has sores all over i have taken her to the vet before he said she has allergies i bath her often and have given her benadryl nothing helps what shoul i do ?what can i use to make her quit itching and scratching? A:you could use the relief shampoo as a lotion to help stop the itch and soothe the skin perhaps one of the fatty acid products such as brite coat would help to maintain a healthy coat

Tiger is a gentle two year old gray and white female pit bull who was found in Rosemead on March 30th and brought into the Baldwin Park shelter. Weighing thirty-five pounds this medium energy girl is friendly and playful. She wasnt treated very well by her former owners as she has considerable hair loss from being bitten by fleas but this will all grow back. Okay on the leash, Tiger really wants to please and will make a great indoor pet for an active family living in a private home.

Binn’s Last Moments (Rat)

On May 29th, I had to put my 2 yr old rat Binn-Ainmhi, called Binn, to sleep due to old age related illnesses.
Her body was becoming weaker and so she stumbled a lot and I feared she might break a bone some day. Her eyes were irritated and I suspected she had a beginning pneumonia which is hard to treat in old rats.
She also looked like she had lost weight even though the scale said she hadn’t, and I blame that and the beginning hair loss on a tumor/mass she had by her right hind leg. It’s a common thing for rats to get benign tumors as they grow old, but this one was different, and the doctor agreed with me that is was probably malignant.

So it was time to say good-bye. I shot this little video right before I got on the bus; she is sitting under my t-shirt grooming herself.

Binn was always a handfull to deal with! She had a temper and knew what she wanted and did not care what I thought *LoL* the fact that she was deaf didn’t help things, and she was both grumpy and wary, so she has bitten me hard enough for me to bleed quite a few times – mostly when I forgot to wake her up gently; because she couldn’t hear me coming she was always very startled to wake up because I touched her and she almost always reacted with a bite before she realized it was just me.
But she has still been a great pet. She was full of energy and always loved to run around on my bed when I had the rats out for a play and cuddle.

And all those little scars from the bites just mean I’ll never forget her =)

She is a petite girl who came to Animal Services as a stray a couple of weeks ago and has captured the hearts of staff with her energetic personality and sweet face. You’ll notice a bit of hair loss on her body, which appears to be a skin allergy. She is a fun-loving girl who is ready to find a loving family to share her kisses with! my samoyed has had hair loss for a week?

if he brushes up against my leg im covered in hairs and if i pet him lightly its comes out all over my hand. he is 10 months old and has had all his vaccinations. we feed him pedigree dry food chicken and rice. can anyone tell me whats wrong with him ill b taking him to the vet tomorrow i just need ta ease my mind. if you have any question that might be a help to sorting this out feel free to ask. thank you
i thought it was sheddin to thats why i left it for the week but he has like really thinned out pacthes of hair all over his coat now not fluffy pieces just pieces like dalmantions. i brush him everyday .

This is TOTALLY normal, Samoyed’s are known to shed big time, especially during summertime. Its not hair loss and your dog is perfectly healthy. He is just shedding his under layer of fur, I would recommend brushing him every second day, if not your house will be filled with fur in no time.

PALMER is a male Black cock-a-poo, 7 years old who weighs just 10 pounds. When rescued from an overcrowded city shelter he had some hair loss from fleas that were not treated. This condition is no longer is a problem and his coat should grow in nicely. PALMER is a nice adult dog and has many years of love to give his new family. Animal Alliance has given him a full blood panel and he checked out as perfectly healthy. This mellow dog, loves humankind and will be very easy to have around. He likes to ride in the car and play fetch. We suggest that he be groomed every 8 weeks or so at a cost of $50 per groom. What a low-keyed guy, that will make an outstanding best friend. The workers at the shelter wanted a better future for PALMER and now all he needs is a family to cherish and love him.
