We had just gotten her Saturday. She had worms and coccydia, some kind of skin condition (the vet wanted to wait until she was getting proper nutrition to see if that was the problem), and she wouldnt eat (we fed her baby formula with a syringe). We were expecting that she wouldnt make it, but still hoped that she would. For those of you who have lost a pet, how did you deal with it?

crying helps. also, and this may sound crazy, but when my dog died, and when my rabbit died, i felt i needed someone to tell about the greef, so i spoke to my dog and rabbit. i told them how my day was and then told them that i missed them and said goodnight. it does help becuase you can think they can hear you just like when they were alive. i know it sounds childish but it does help.

I’ve never liked the pet store in my town, but it’s the only one we have so I need to get my crickets there. It smells in there, it’s overcrowded, and the animals never look taken care of (dirty cages, empty water dishes, improper conditions… the mice have tumours). While I was getting my crickets today, I saw 2 leopard geckos in a really small tank (probably 5 gallons, definitely less than 10) and I thought one was dead.

The orange one looked alright, but the yellow one is extremely underweight, skin just hanging off it’s belly, tail has no fat, and it wasn’t moving and didn’t look like it was even breathing until it wearily lifted it’s head to look at me. I wanted to save it, so I asked how much for the gecko, and he said $300 for the two. That’s crazy!

I heard a girl who works there say she only feeds them a pinky mouse every ‘once in a while’?? I’m pretty sure it’s dying, what can I do? Nothing? Complain to someone about the pet store? Try and get the gecko for really cheap because it’s unhealthy, and take care of it?

Please help, I have my own leopard gecko and bearded dragon, and I’m getting a crested gecko, I have an extra tank and supplies already and I’m becoming quite knowledgeable about herps ever since I got my gecko 2 years ago, how can I help this pet store gecko?!

I can’t buy any of their mammals or birds, I have really bad allergies to them, and I’m not good with fish. The only reptiles they have are a couple baby bearded dragons and the 2 leopard geckos. The dragons aren’t in much better shape. I only have $70 to my name though so I don’t think I can afford to buy them! I will for sure report the store, and definitely try to get at least the one gecko. I live in Canada, so I need to find somewhere to report them here. Maybe the humane society?
I went back and asked about the geckos again, I talked to someone different and she said $375 for the 2 geckos! They don’t even know how much they’re selling their stuff for. I told her the gecko looked sick and was really thin, she told me "no she’s fine. the male in there eats all the food. she’s laying eggs too, see over there?" it made me so mad how ignorant they are. I called the humane society here and told them about it, and they’re supposed to go check it out. I hope I see that pet store closed down.

Press Charges for animal abuse. Or boycot them, for the cricket prob, just buy a lot and breed them, report to cops or epa or someone. Try to get them out of business.
