DId the dog in this video die?
My dog looked same as this dog but was 3 years old. He died in the last seizure which was different from the priot three that week. All his limbs went straight like a plank of wood and his lungs froze – his whole body froze like that and he wasnt breathing. His heart was still beating. A minute before the seizure his eyes had been buldging in and out of his head. Its the cruelist death I have ever expreienced. Especiialy that I had just finished his full training
Please someone – I just asked my Vet here in Brasil and she said that the dog in this video is just a mixed breed strieet dog. But it cant be. My dog just died last week aged three and looks EXACTLY the same as this dog – every single hair, the paws, the tail EVERYTHING. EXACTLY. It must be a breed? Can anyone explain because I know its an awesome intelligent Breed (my dog worked out how to unlock the car door AND then open it from simply secretly watching me – it was a plan)
Please does anyone know what breed of dog that is? My dog looked exactly the same but was 3 years old and died of Distemper.
@agl704 seriously c’mon… People take your damn pets to the vet and get their shots.
If you’re too broke or busy to do that, you shouldn’t have gotten a pet in the first place. Know if you’re even suitable to have the luxury of owning pets before you get one. People working at the animal shelters have to put up with so much shit in America today because if human irresponsibility.
(FYI, it’s way cheaper to go to a vet beforehand rather than after your pet gets sick)
@agl704 -please rush to the vet.i hope you doggie is fine now?

Unfortunately i couldn’t save a my bhote junior with distemper he passed away few months ago, if any of the dog caught by distemper symptoms are similar to this video shaking left part of the body, running nose and eyes where feces can be seen and its the after effect of the virus and attacks whole system nervous system, internal organs even immune to respond to fight with disease. if disease appears around six months its curable but older dogs cant cope with disease chances are low.
@agl704 Sorry for the delay, I have not checked my comments lately. Take your pet to a vet, ASAP. Proper medical care is the best thing to do.
i wish someone will please help me out.. ok my puppy is probly about this dogs size and his head is shaking like he has parkinson he wont eat or drink.. i dont know what to do,, he hasnt had had any shots yet and hes only 4-5 mnths old if anyone cud halp me out wit this problem i wud really appreciate it ..
i proper hate seeing dogs suffering i feel dead sorry for them hope this dog is ok now !!!!! <3
@laurajdahl @laurajdahl If your dog has been bitten by a raccoon, you must consult a vet in your area. They will have a good idea what diseases are common and communicable. A top concern is rabies.

can dogs get distemper if they are bit by an infected raccoon?
poor little puppy….
is it zoonotic?
@DiamondSutraPress
The other reply is right, however chances are it could be a kidney issue. That’s often times a first indicator of kidney issues.
If you have a dog you suspect has distemper, immediately take it to a proper veternarian. There is no good substitute for proper medical care as soon as possible.
if you give the sdog the distimper shot after thay already have the distimper does it help or does it stop the simptoms
poor baby xx
Our rescue group had one case of distemper. Luckily our Lola survived but only after $1,200 in meds, 14 days of SubQ IV fluids, 10 days of eating absolutely nothing and 6 months of recovery. She never had seizures (that we saw) nor did she have any blindness or neuro damage occur. She is a very lucky dog and is now in a wonderful adoptive home. At one point the width of her lower back was only the width of the her spinal column. The day she ate her first bite of food was a joyous day for us all.
Dog can die at any point in disease, neuro signs can take up to 16 weeks to surface not all dogs show neuro signs, virus is shed at day 3 and has been known to be shed up to 16 weeks postinfection with or with clinical signs. Survival/ time-line is highly dependent on dog and strain of virus. Mortality can exceed 50% (+/-20%) of dogs who show neuro signs plus additional mortality from secondary infections. Good read on this topic Infectious Disease Management in Shelter Animals Wiley-Blackwell
im pretty sure its in a 7 way vaccination for parvo and stuff but youd have to check wit a vet im not positive

After the neurological signs show up how long till recovery? I mean how long before you know the dog survived the virus?
- Dogs cannot become infected with the newcastle virus but, because it’s related to the distemper virus, it prompts an immune response that cures the dog of Canine Distemper Virus and stops the progression of the disease. While the dog is cured of distemper within a couple of days, it may take weeks or months to recover from neurologic disease.
In the later stages, the protocol required is far more invasive. The Newcastle Disease vaccine (normally used to immunize chickens against a virus related to distemper) is injected intravenously and, if the dog has been sick more than six days (when the virus breaches the blood brain barrier), the vaccine is also injected into the cerebrospinal fluid.
