Anyone know of a home remedy for sarcoptic mange?

My dog has some balding and she bites on her back close to her tail, shes lost hair and her skin is black and rough.

how do you know your dog has sarcoptic mange? sarcoptic mange is very contagious to humans and other animals, but it sounds like your dog has a flea allergy and possibly other allergies as well. dogs with fleas will typically chew at the base of their tail and dogs with chronic allergies will typically develop black skin. SEE YOUR VET!

and no, there isnt a home remedy for mange.

  • ?CHAO§ Gigalomaniax?:

There is none. You have to take your dog to a vet.

I would take her to a vet to prevent further infection with improper treatment.

Home Remedy: Get Dressed. Get the Car Keys. Get in the Car. Crank the car. Drive to the nearest vet.

    Good Luck!

People used to apply used motor oil…like you drain from your car….but I wouldn’t recommend it. You should take the animal to the vet.

Sorry but no, there is no home treatment. Please take her to a vet she needs care and proscribed medication.

    Nope.

I recommend buying nu-stock and immune system boosters.

Mange pups have weak immune systems.

    i remmend sea pet.

then just do the ivermectin treatment by the vet.

dont go with the mitaban dips. THOSE CAUSE CANCER. THEIR ACTIVE INGREDIENT IS TERRIBLE.

AND DONT PUT MOTOR OIL ON UR DOG

The best way you can help your dog once it has been to the vet is DIET DIET DIET!

I have helped 3 friends dogs, who were affected by mange and within weeks it was all gone and the coats were glossy and healthy. Mange may be a mite but having healthy skin and body seems to help get rid of it quite quickly.

You can also wash your dog in a tea-tree oil wash ans rinse with tea tree oil. Tea tree is an antiseptic as well as an oil so will help with any dried skin

I know it may seem like a lot of work but you are rewarded with good health, no smelly breath, healthy poos and less visits to the vet.

I feed a raw natural diet based on the BARF diet.

Breakfast is normally Bones, Chicken Frames, Sardines

A dinner mix is made up of:

mix up (all foods are human grade)
    30% ground beef mince
    30% minced chicken frames
20% chopped liver & other offal (hearts, kindneys, tongue, brains etc)
I also add a cup(per kilo) of a dog complete mix which has grains, kelp & garlic for rougage which has been soaked for 24hrs so that it ferments.

THE ABOVE IS MIXED AND FROZED FOR CONVENIENCE

Once defrosted or if mixing fresh , then I add the following:

20% grated veges (carrots, zucchini, apples, celery, spinach etc)

WIth the above mix I usually mix this up in 50kg lots and then individually weigh up serving size bags and freeze them – which then makes it as convenient as processed can or dry food and will last me 45 day with my 2 Dobermanns.

Once defrosted I then add some really good supplements that contain glucosamine, shark cartlidge, kelp, spirolina +++

+ Every few days add an egg to the mix

the supplements I add can be found at:

Green Supplement mixed with meats: (1 Tblsp added to meat)

I also feed my Dobes fruit (orange, apples, berries, banana, melons +++) I now cannot eat fruit without the 2 sitting drooling for some too :) LOL

Any questions just ask me and I’ll do what I can :)
