Are any of your active ingredients the same as the over the counter treatments for ringworm on pets?

Our active ingredients for ringworm products are mostly natural ingredients. Over the counter ingredients are usually not made with the same tinea formulas that our products are at Q-Based Healthcare. For pet ringworm treatment we sell our PetsBestRx Pet Wash.

The active ingredient in our Pet Wash is Alkyl Dimethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chlorides which is similar to Benzalkonium Chloride. This product in most cases is not sold over the counter for ringworm. Benzalknoium Chloride is antibacterial, antiviral, antimicrobial and antifungal so it is used as a dog fungus ringworm treatment. Normally it is used just like a regular dog shampoo except it can take care of ringworm fungus. Another product we use to treat pet ringworm is our PetsBestRx Sulfinex Cream. The Sulfinex Cream is made with MSM (white sulfur) and pine oil. These are both natural ingredients and are not used in other over the counter pet ringworm treatments. MSM is known for its antifungal properties and pine oil will help with the itch associated with ringworm treatments.

The final products that we use for pet ringworm treatment or our PetsBestRx Healing Gel or our PetsBestRx Healing and Protection Spray depending if you are treating a dog or a cat. The active ingredient in both of these products is Benzalkonium Chloride. One product is a stronger formulation than the other. If you are treating a dog with ringworm you need to use the PetsBestRx Healing Gel and if you are treating a cat with ringworm then you need to use the PetsBestRx Healing and Protection Spray.

The immune systems for cats and dogs are different. The PetsBestRX Healing Gel and the Pet Wash should not be used on a cat. You really need to treat ringworm with both the Sulfinex Cream and the Healing Gel or Spray to make sure that you receive the added benefit of using two different active ingredients.
