Our ear mite products can work for ear mite prevention depending on how often they are used. The PetsBestRx Mitactin Spray or Ear Wash Treatment and the PetsBestRx Healing and Protection Spray can both be used on your pet even if they do not have ear mites.

I usually perform a treatment on my pet once per week with the Healing and Protection Spray and the Mitacin Spray or Ear Wash Treatment. I do this treatment to clean out the ears and to be on the safe side.  This will make sure I kill the ear mites. Only one application will not kill all of the ear mites.  If you do a treatment once per week to clean out the ears this will help you to notice if there is an increase of ear wax or debris in the ear which is a sign of an ear mite infestation.

Doing a weekly treatment will not stop your pet from getting ear mites. If you pet comes in contact with other pets or is an outside pet it will not stop them from getting ear mites. Doing a weekly treatment should help to keep ear mites at bay or help you to notice if an infestation is present. Ear mites are highly contagious and can be transferred back and forth. If you do notice signs of ear mites in your pet make sure to begin the treatment with the PetsBestRx Healing and Protection Spray and the PetsBestRx Mitactin Spray or Ear Wash Treatment.
