The time allowed for ear mite treatment depends on the severity of the infestation and the length of time they have had ear mites.

The longer your pet has been dealing with ear mites the longer the treatment will take. For long infestations the ear mites are more embedded in the ears and the infection is worse. We treat ear mites with our PetsBestRx Mitactin Spray or Ear Wash Treatment and PetsBestRx Healing and Protection Spray.

We suggest the use of a Q-tip to apply the products to your pet. This will insure you do not apply too much product and precision when doing so. By using too much product it can cause irritation.

You start with the PetsBestRx Healing and Protection Spray applied to the ear flap and outside of the ear. The PetsBestRx Mitactin Spray should be applied later in the day. It is recommended to use one in the morning and one at night. These products should not be poured or sprayed directly in the ear.

Also, ear mites are highly contagious can spread from pet to pet, pet to humans, and also to objects in the home. Therefore it is very important to treat your home as well as your pet when you are dealing with ear mites.
